SANJUANITO FANTASY

Its original title was "Fantasía sobre un Sanjuanito" and was renamed by the composer as "Sanjuanito Fantasy"

Work originally written for string quartet in September 2014.

These are variations on a theme of the sanjuanito "Mi Chagrita Caprichosa" by the renowned Ecuadorian composer Benjamín Aguilera.

The main theme "leit motiv" of this popular and traditional Ecuadorian song walks through a variety of rhythmic and sonorous conceptual sketches that evoke each time a new atmosphere, not only in terms of "variations" of the melodic line, but in a new proposal to evoke the same musical theme with different perspectives and senses.
