The "Preludio Nº 1" was composed in Odessa, Ukraine, in November 2008.

Technically, the piece is designed for the study of tremolo technique on the marimba using four mallets. The variety of tremolo techniques and the musical sensibility of the composition allow the performer to choose the appropriate sound for interpreting and understanding the piece.

"Preludio Nº1" has a calm and melancholic character. It captures the essence of those individuals who come into our lives with the sole purpose of helping us grow as individuals. While life itself is a continuous journey of growth, these people play a fundamental role and contribute to who we have become. This work is dedicated to a dear lifelong friend: Li Xiang.
